Welcome Back/Homework/Spelling Overview

Year Three have made a fantastic start to the new academic year and have taken to Key Stage 2 with great maturity and excellent listening skills!  We have had a brilliant first week back where we have began our English topic looking at the story of We Want William and looked at our place value targets in maths.  We have also launched our Wild, Wild West topic where the children were mixed with Year Four and Five to complete DT projects and even had chance to try some American food!

For homework this week, the children have been asked to complete a reading journal activity.  We have looked at journals in class this week and they have some examples of what they should be doing.  As always, homework should be completed by Wednesday.

I have also attached a spelling overview so you can see the rules/words we are learning each week in advance.

I hope everyone has had a good weekend and ready for Monday morning!

It's up on the wall and looks beautiful!

Thank you to all of you who surprised me this morning with fabulous gifts and a big thank you to you and your children for being a great class and a great set of parents! It has been an emotional day today because it has been such a wonderful year, and one I will remember fondly forever!

Thank you all also so, so much for your kind messages and comment of thanks and appreciation over the past few days. They really do mean so much and are not taken lightly.

I hope you all have a fantastic summer wherever your travels may take you! I am off to Pembrokeshire for some time by the sea with my family but look forward to seeing you all soon!

Oh and please look carefully through those heavy bags that the children brought home tonight as there is various letters hidden in there (including your squid passwords which you'll need to pay for hot dinners next year!)

Once again many, many thanks to you all!

Scientists in action!
This past week we have been doing all about materials and investigating how they can change. On Monday we used heat to change materials and were predicting if the change could be reversed or not!
