YEAR ONE AND TWO DT DAY - MAKING PLAYGROUNDS ON WEDNESDAY 12TH JULY

Following on from our trip 'Out and about in Keyworth' we will be having another Base One D.T. day (on Wednesday 12th July) where we invite parents in for the day to help the children create something fantastic.

This time we will be making playground equipment. We will be looking at different ways to join materials but also making sure that the structure can move in some way too!

A letter will follow shortly, but if you are able to, please save the date and come and join us!

Many Thanks

Mrs Westie and Mrs Payne

A visit from GB athlete Leon Baptiste

A visit from GB athlete Leon Baptiste
Leon led the children in their sponsored activities this morning and got them jogging on the spot, doing star jumps, mountain climbers and spotty dog!

After playtime he led a very inspiring assembly where he talked about his career and how he had worked very hard for 7 years before winning any big races! His message was to never give up!

He told the children that to achieve their dreams they should believe in themselves and work hard - which they most certainly have been doing all week!

We've seen lots of great teamwork, stickability, concentration and determination this Sports week - very well done Class Pine!

THANK YOU!

THANK YOU!
Thank you so, so, so much for the beautiful flowers and chocolates! I loved every minute of the residential and the children were a credit to you all!

They did themselves proud at the presentation too and it was lovely that so many people were able to come!

Once again, thank you!

YEAR ONE AND TWO OUT & ABOUT IN KEYWORTH

On Thursday 6th July, as part of this half term’s topic we are heading into the village for the day.

Our plan for the day is to leave school at 9.30am. We will be walking to ‘The Square’ where the children will undertake a shop survey and then we will then be walking to the park. The children will be given time to sketch the playground in preparation for their upcoming DT project and will also have some time to play on the equipment.

For lunch, the children will be supplied with a school pack lunch and this will be enjoyed whilst on the park area (or inside the Methodist church if the weather is not fine, or indeed too hot!)

In the afternoon we will be visiting both the Church of St. Mary Magdalene and Keyworth Methodist Church, hosted by Andy Proffitt who regularly visits us at school for assembles, which complements our work this term in R.E.

We will walk back to school in time for the usual end of day collection at 3.30pm.

If you can help out or have any questions, please see your child’s class teacher.

Many thanks for your support.
