Christmas fun!

On Thursday we had a very busy Christmas celebration day.  As well as joining the children from school for our Christmas lunch in the hall, we had a Christmas party in the afternoon with a very special visitor..........SANTA! Dr Richard Clothier from the parish church came to lead our crib service.

The children looked amazingly festive in their Christmas jumpers, and Santa gave them all a present for being so good this year.  We wonder what else he will bring them on Christmas Eve - as long as they are asleep in their own bed!

From every one at Busybees, we wish you a merry Christmas and a happy new year!

Crossdale's Wraparound Childcare Services

Dear Parents,

We know how important wraparound childcare services are to working families and we have been working hard to expand the services we can offer at Crossdale.

We have introduced a new holiday club (which has been very popular) and we are currently planning to expand Busy Bees by converting the bungalow on the school site which was previously used by the caretaker.

To help our planning, and to ensure we provide the services that you need, please complete the short survey below. It should only take a couple of minutes.

Regards,

Peter Cresswell

Chicks, pancakes and hearts!

Earlier this term we were able to watch the school's eggs hatch and the chicks that emerged, grow.  The children were fascinated by the eggs as they moved when the chicks were breaking out and we visited everyday to watch them develop.  We talked about similarities and differences between the chicks and us, and talked about different parts of the body and lifecycles.  The children were able to stroke the chicks and we all remembered to wash our hands afterwards!

This week we have been busy with pancakes and hearts!

On Tuesday we made pancake mix for Shrove Tuesday and the children took some home to cook and eat.  Have a look at our fabulous pictures of Isabelle and Elizabeth with their finished pancakes - we think they are going to be chefs when they grow up!  The children also made frying pans to pretend to cook pancakes in nursery.

We have also been preparing for Valentine's Day, which is Amanda's favourite day of the year!  The children have made Valentine's cards and written in them so they can send them to someone they love.  It has been a LOVE-ly day with children making and decorating playdough hearts, playing heart counting games and searching for hearts on the Woodlands.  Mr Sanders helped us hide them - what a LOVE-ly man!

After such a busy week, the children are tired out, ready for half-term.  We look forward to welcoming them back on Monday, 22 February.  Have a LOVE-ly half-term, everyone!b2ap3_thumbnail_PicCollage-Chicks_20160212-134336_1.jpgb2ap3_thumbnail_Pancakes.jpgb2ap3_thumbnail_PicCollage-hearts_20160212-134350_1.jpgb2ap3_thumbnail_PicCollage-Woodlands_20160212-134355_1.jpg

Children in Need - Friday, 13 November, 2015

Thank you to all our children who came in ready to have fun for Children In Need today!  We made our own Pudsey snack this morning, using pancakes, icing, raisins, biscuits and sprinkles to make Pudsey faces.  The children had a lot of fun using their own ideas and listening to their friends to decorate their pancake.

While I am writing this, Amanda and Tasha have taken the children on a spot hunt outside, to find the spots they decorated yesterday, which have been hidden in th outside environment.b2ap3_thumbnail_IMG_1153.JPGb2ap3_thumbnail_IMG_1163.JPGb2ap3_thumbnail_IMG_1162.JPGb2ap3_thumbnail_IMG_1166.JPGb2ap3_thumbnail_IMG_1181.jpg
