Bear hunt, bird hides and bones!

We were really lucky to begin our week with a visit from Mr O'Neil who taught us lots of things about bones.

The children have continued to use the 'Bear Hunt' story in their play. We've had lots of fun retelling the story inside and outside with props, painting and drawing.

We had a visiting toy parrot which inspired us to make a bird hide on the Woodlands so we can observe some real birds.

Next week we are planning to explore the story of Goldilocks and the 3 Bears. If you have any different versions of the story we would love to see them. Or if your child has any ideas of things we could do please send them into This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Reception Superstars

The new  Reception class have made a super start to their life at Crossdale. In assembly they were introduced to the whole school (with a little help from siblings).

Thank you for all the hard work you have put into the All About Me books. The children have loved sharing these.

If you still have any information packs for the office could you please pop these to the office asap.

Just a reminder to parents that we will be having a tea party at 1 O'clock on Wednesday 13th September. This is a nice chance for families to meet up over a cuppa and get to know each other. There will be  at least one member of the PTA available to chat to if you have any questions or were interested in helping out at school events. Mrs Shipman will also be attending so she can to get to know our new families and be available for any questions regarding uniform, milk, etc.

At 6pm on Wednesday 13th there will also be a parents information evening. At this we will go into more detail about reading information books and routines at school. If you are unable to make this we will ensure this information is available via email or you are Welcome to call in and speak to us after school.

Have a lovely weekend.

Mrs Ingle and Mrs Mellor.
